Hilarie Hoting to Serve as Associate Director and Resource Development Manager for Student & Youth Travel Association (SYTA) and the SYF (SYTA Foundation)
McLEAN, Va., November 22, 2009 — Association Management Group (AMG) concluded a comprehensive search for a skilled partnership professional and demonstrated fundraising expert to fill a critical role for the Student & Youth Travel Association and its foundation. Hilarie Hoting, joined the SYTA and SYF team today and will begin work immediately to create a corporate and strategic sponsorship and alliance programs, as well as fundraising and donor programs for the foundation. Raising the visibility of SYTA and SYF and implementing an aggressive resource development plan will be Hoting’s primary responsibility.
SYTA and SYF rely on non-dues revenue from businesses, corporations and other funders who have goals and interests aligned with the organizations’ missions. Funds are used to provide scholarships for student and youth travelers and to advance programming for the association.

strategic partnerships and alliances with SYTA’s associate member community — the vendors such as bus companies, venues, destination management companies to the tour operators. She is a high-energy, multi-tasker with excellent negotiation skills. She is known for her ability to find innovative solutions to complex challenges and resource constraints and I feel confident she will infuse dynamism into their fundraising efforts.”
Hoting comes to AMG from the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) where she served as the director of business development. Prior to that, she was with the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) for 18 years serving as vice president of membership and meeting services leading sponsorship and partnership efforts with major manufacturers and retail companies.
“Over the next year, I intend to earn the trust of the SYTA Foundation and SYTA board members by delivering against mutually understood goals and objectives,” says Hoting. “I am confident that we will forge a strong collaborative relationship and I look forward to serving these motivated and passionate volunteers. I believe we have a lot in common already and I look forward to demonstrating my ability to further their initiatives.”
SYTA and the SYTA Foundation are preparing for the January meeting, Summit 2010 in St. Louis. Hoting, who starts with AMG this week, will begin developing and soliciting sponsorship packages immediately. “Hilarie’s experience in membership, meetings and business development will complement the strengths of our team and add a valuable dimension to the service we provide and the projects we can accomplish,” says SYTA and SYTA Foundation Executive Director Claudia Mansfield Sutton, M.Ed.
