Association Management
Group on a Roll
Retail Bakers select AMG for education,
membership and public relations services
McLEAN,
Va., June 6, 2005 – Association Management Group,
Inc. (AMG), the largest Washington, D.C.-based association
management company, announced that The
Retail Bakers of America has selected AMG for full-service
management including marketing, education, communications
and membership services beginning June 6, 2005.
Providing a resource to all independent bakers, the Retail Bakers of America (RBA) was founded in Illinois in 1918 and offers business development tools through training and certification courses; a monthly newsletter; an online e-group; as well as a national convention and regional meetings. This trade association will now be headquartered at AMG’s McLean, Va. office and Bernard Reynolds, RBA’s current executive vice-president, will lead a new staff team at AMG
Recognizing the need to better serve professional bakers nationwide, RBA sought the services of AMG citing its reputation for delivering management solutions to more than 120 associations and non-profits over the past 23 years, as well as its expertise in membership marketing, certification, and communications. “As a full-service association management company, our core purpose is to renew and restore organizations and enable them to improve operations, increase profitability and achieve their organizational goals and we will do this for the RBA,” says Bruce Wardle, president and CEO of AMG. “AMG will work with the RBA Board to establish a new brand for RBA and develop information and services to improve the prosperity of retail bakers. We will help spearhead a membership drive and public relations campaign designed to tie members closer to their association.”
“Visits to independent bakers have declined over the past years as the convenience of supermarket bakeries has evolved,” says Bernie Reynolds. “Independent bakers are versatile and can respond to consumers’ varying and individual needs without the cost benefit and analysis that most retail supermarkets must go through. We will work with AMG to increase awareness of, and drive consumers back to, the independent bakeries.”
The RBA Board believes AMG’s professionalism, vision for the success of the organization and most importantly the fresh perspective on the growth of RBA is essential to the future of the organization and will deliver effective, results-driven services to their members. ”RBA has incredible potential and moving to AMG will give us the resources to change our focus while lowering costs,” Reynolds adds.
“We are very excited to add The Retail Bakers of America to our roster of valued full-service clients,” said Wardle. “We look forward to working in a close partnership with the Board to make the right decision for the association and ensure a new image and vision for America’s independent bakers.”
