Largest DC-Based
Association Management Firm Expands Practice
McLean, Va. – Association Management Group, Inc.
(AMG), today announced its selection by the Depression and
Related Affective Disorders Association (DRADA) for full-service
management, expanding the firm’s practice within the
area of health-related organizations. DRADA is a community
organization serving those affected by depressive illnesses.
AMG, which also manages the Association of Hispanic Advertising
Agencies, the Retail Bakers of America and the Board of
Registered Polysomnographic Technologists among its roster
of distinguished nonprofit clients, began work with DRADA
on January 2, 2006. AMG will offer full staff and administrative
support to DRADA, along with effective management, development,
outreach and educational support under the guidance of John
Ganoe, CAE, as DRADA’s Executive Director.
DRADA’s mission is “to educate, inform and
support,” to alleviate the suffering caused by depression
and manic depression for patients, family members, health
care professionals and the general public via self-help
group assistance, and support of vital research, education
and information programs. DRADA’s Chairman, Bruce
Wolff hailed the AMG relationship stating; “The board
and I look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with
AMG and to their demonstrated capacity to help us achieve
our mission and goals.”
DRADA, formerly located in the Baltimore area opts for
a more central location within the Washington-Baltimore
metropolitan area with this move to AMG in Tysons Corner,
Virginia, which positions DRADA more effectively to communities
in the mid-Atlantic area and nationwide.
DRADA’s membership and donor base includes individuals,
organizations, and corporations, united to help raise awareness
of mental health issues by funding expanded education and
information programs, and the support services needed to
eliminate the stigma of depression and bipolar disorders.
AMG President, Bruce Wardle, CAE, lauds DRADA’s mission.
“We all know individuals affected by depression-related
disorders; many of us have family members who struggle to
deal with depression,” he said. “DRADA’s
work is vital, and we look forward to working with DRADA
leaders and donors to promote awareness of the signs and
symptoms of these illnesses, and of the essential resources
available to persons adversely affected.”
