‘Tis the Season, But AMG Assists Local Charities All Year

AMG is committed to serving its community by supporting charitable organizations throughout the year.  One organization AMG will support this year is Alternative House, a local charity providing support to at-risk children, youth and families through counseling, shelter, crisis intervention and neighborhood outreach.

AMG initiated this partnership because of the company’s strong commitment to philanthropy.  Led by AMG President, Bruce Wardle, employees strive to make a positive difference in the community through service and volunteerism throughout the year.  AMG embraces a culture of philanthropy and contributions to organizations like Alternative House foster professional growth amongst its employees.

Alternative House, founded in 1972, recognize that families are interdependent and that a crisis or challenge facing one family member affects everyone.  The organization therefore empowers children, teens and families to work together and build on their strengths.  Programs include Emergency Shelter for Teenagers, Community Outreach, Assisting Young Mothers (AYM), and Homeless Youth Initiative.   The spirit of collaboration and community-building embodied by Alternative House is in line with AMG’s values and part of the company’s everyday service to its clients.  This makes it easy for AMG employees to contribute to the organization and make a positive impact in the community.

In addition to monetary donations, AMG employees will participate in clothing and supply drives and events benefiting Alternative House.  Recently, a group of AMG employees participated in an 8K run with proceeds going to Alternative House.

The AYM program provides counseling and support for pregnant and parenting teens through residential and community-based programs.  Young women receive counseling, shelter, life skills training, parenting education, and job readiness training to help them become nurturing parents and successful members of the community.  AMG employees recently volunteered to help clean and move townhouses for young mothers.
