Linda T. Ayers, MHCM, CAE Chosen as EDPMA Chief Executive by Board Members to Enhance EDPMA’s Purpose and Values
McLean, Va., March 16, 2010 — Linda T. Ayers, CAE was
selected by the Emergency Department Practice Management Association
(EDPMA) as its Executive Director to focus on the growth and
advancement of the association. EDPMA leaders concluded an extensive
search coordinated by their management firm, Association Management
Group (AMG) on March 13th. Ayers will begin her new role with EDPMA on
April 5th. Ayers brings years of diverse association management with
the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and the
Association of American Medical Colleges, as well as direct hospital
experience managing all aspects of the Provider Services department
within the Physicians Unified Billing Services at Georgetown
University Hospital.
Her expertise in helping organizations confirm strategic
direction, determine policy, grow membership and expand their reach
made Ayers the ideal choice for EDPMA. “I am thrilled to be selected
by EDPMA and AMG and I can’t wait to begin,” Ayers said. “I intend to
quickly learn about the EDPMA and its members, apply my skills in
nonprofit management, and get to work to deliver a content rich
Solutions Summit this summer.”
EDPMA Chairman Randy Pilgrim, MD, FACEP states: “Our
selection committee was extremely impressed with Linda’s knowledge,
abilities, and professionalism, and her prior experiences and
familiarity with advocacy will serve us very well.” Pilgrim notes
further: “During this historic time in health care, I’m confident
that EDPMA is positioned better than ever to make a meaningful
difference in the delivery of emergency care. We look forward to
Linda’s contributions, as we tackle new challenges on behalf of our
patients.”
In the short-term, Ayers priorities will be to build
relationships with the Board, legislative counsel and staff to form
strong, long-term partnerships. She will be reaching out to members
and actively engaging them in opportunities within the association,
and she will focus on leading her team in the delivery of another very
successful Solutions Summit June 21-23, at the Ritz Carlton, Key
Biscayne, Florida.
“Linda is joining a staff team of nonprofit professionals
who will serve EDPMA with enthusiasm and diligence,” said J. Bruce
Wardle, CAE, President and CEO of AMG. “The team intends to recognize
and deliver opportunities to enhance EDPMA with member growth and
retention in mind. We are pleased with the selection of Linda as the
new executive director for EDPMA and are confident that her management
and experience will be a tremendous advantage.”
